Das Helios-Projekt ist online und damit seid ihr an der Reihe. Denn eure Meinung, Expertise und Mitarbeit ist uns wichtig. In den nächsten Wochen werdet ihr die Gelegenheit haben die neuen APIs der Deutschen Telekom zu testen, Anregungen zu geben und die Entwicklung voran zu treiben.
Wichtig: Die Kommunikation rund um das Projekt erfolgt über diesen Blog. Anregungen und Meinungen postet ihr in den Kommentaren zu den jeweiligen Artikeln. Wir werden euch im Laufe der Zeit jede Menge Fragen stellen, euch Aufgaben geben und Informationen zur Verfügung stellen. Lasst euch überraschen!
Es lohnt sich also, des Öfteren hier vorbeizuschauen. Kleiner Tipp: Abonniert den RSS-Feed in eurem Feed-Reeder. So könnt ihr sicherstellen, dass ihr nichts verpasst.
Solltet ihr Fragen zum Projekt oder zu den APIs haben, nur zu! Postet einfach einen Kommentar hier oder in einem der folgenden Postings und ihr werdet erhört. Fachleute der Telekom und meine Wenigkeit stehen euch quasi rund um die Uhr zur Verfügung.

Yet Another Frontendcontroller For Ajax Json Networks

What is it?

You’ve got an Hello-Word-Application: operating on apache / php / json / html
this packages contains an html-greeting-page which loads the presented values
asynchronously using a special javascipt-library. This library is the technical
core of the package and could be integrated into other large projects for splitting
the visual content (the page) and the computed values which shall be embedded
into the content. YAF4AJN is nothing more than a clever combination of AJAX
and JSON: it tightens the screw a little bit more. And it allows a complete
seperation of the value computing code/scripting and the html presentation.
Core of this package is the Frontendcontroller Javascript (fec.js), which
acts as a man-in-the-middle between static (X)HTML pages and an application
server. The FEC is based on the coding guidelines of the prototype.js
library and implements various functionality for backend/frontend
communication, formdata manipulation and error handling.
Please note, that the application.php in this package is only an usuage
example, that does not support all of the FEC functionality. Normally you
would deploy a real business logic server at this place (in the programming
language of your choice).
Why?

Aim of the FEC is to hold only static (X)HTML pages on the frontend webserver,
which act like empty form templates, while the FEC communicates with the
application server and handles the session (login,userdata,etc) and business
data to be shown in the frontend. The benefit of this architecture is, that
the caching mechanism of the delivering webserver reaches a 100% efficiency
and the application server only has to deliver the pure data, which is
usually only a small percentage of the whole (X)HTML page.
In short terms:
- strict disjunction of business logic and frontend design
- faster page delivery
- less traffic
- less usuage of resources (hardware,bandidth,etc)
- easy to scale (loadbalancer,etc)

Well java Script works fine for me, Possibly a webserver must be enabled and I need to run it from my apache webserver and to modufy my .htaccess and enable modphp ?
Apache works fine for me too How do you start it ?

Exactly here it stops,
I cannot find any php interpreter in my $PATH. I think i must use my local apache webserver and that php must be enabled in apache.

Hast Du Dir die Insidermap (oben rechts) schon runtergeladen? Dort sind die wichtigsten Infos zum Projekt enthalten.

Hallo zusammen,
entweder bin ich blind, oder die angekündigten APIs stehen noch nicht zum Download bereit??
Dann hab ich noch eine Frage zu den Kontingenten, in der insidemap steht der Satz (Seite 6) “Die Sandbox bietet einen ähnlichen Funktionsumfang wie die Web-Services, ist aber kostenlos nutzbar” Können uns durch das Nutzen der Kontingente Kosten entstehen??

Hallo nochmal,
da war ich wohl etwas zu ungeduldig. Gestern ist das Welkom Package angekommen, jetzt habe ich auch die CD mit dem SDK.
Die Frage zu den Kontingenten ist allerdings immer noch offen, oder habe ich irgendwo einen Hinweis übersehen?
Generell finde ich mich noch nicht so wirklich hier zurecht. Eine Frage die ich mir immer wieder stelle ist in wie weit die Kommentare und Blogs gruppiert sind, bzw. ich klick mich immer durch alle möglichen Bereich um diesen wieder zu finden.

Hallo zusammen,
ich habe zwar das Welcome-Package mit den SDK’s noch nicht erhalten, konnte jedoch mit den spärlichen Infos der Dokumentation im Developer-Portal die Voice- und SMS-Schnittstelle bereits erfolgreich testen.
Da ich insbesondere die Voice-Schnittstelle recht zeitnah auch produktiv einsetzen möchte, würden mich weitere Informationen über die weitere Entwicklung des Angebots interessieren (@telekom was habt ihr in nächster Zeit vor?)

Hi,
habe nur ich Probleme mit dem Internet Explorer? Ich wollte eigentlich mit dem IE7 diese Seite aufrufen, hat aber nicht so recht geklappt :-/
Und wie schaut es mit den Kosten des ganzen aus? Wenn das Freikontingent erschöpft ist?

Ich habe mit dem IE7 keine Probleme.
Kosten keine Ahnung ich glaube die wurden noch nicht angekündig aber dein Freikontingent benutzt du ja wenn du das SDK im SANDBOX Modus ausführst. Wenn das Freikontingent dann erschöpft ist, geht es schlicht nicht mehr weiter und es kommt eine entsprechende Meldung (insofern du dir die Meldungen anzeigen lässt).
Beim normalen PRODUCTION Modus gibt es glaube ich kein Freikontingent sondern das ist dann die richtige Umgebung bei der du später auch zahlen wirst.
Korrigiert mich wenn ich falsch liege
